In the three new advertisements released by Microsoft, the company has evidently compared its Surface Pro 3 directly against Apple's MacBook Air. Boasting of the tablet's various features and capacities, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 clearly campaigned its capability to actually replace one of Apple's most talked about product, the MacBook Air. Hence, these ads definitely made fans question whether Microsoft's tablet can indeed replace Apple's laptop.

According to the ads, one of the features offered by the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is its touchscreen capacity. To simply put, this feature is granted to Microsoft Surface Pro 3 while MacBook Air users do not have the luxury to enjoy this attribute. In addition, Microsoft showed its fans the advantages of this feature. By having a touchscreen, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 users can easily take down notes on the screen or illustrate using the pen.

With respect to the screen resolution of the gadgets, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 offers its users a 12-inch screen that has 2,160 x 1,440 resolution. On the other hand, the 13-inch MacBook Air provides Apple fans with a resolution of 1,440 x 900.

Depending on the price range of the user, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 can offer an i3, i5, or i7 processor. With regard this aspect, the Apple MacBook Air offers an Intel i5 or Intel i7 in accordance with the budget of the customer.

In terms of the hardware of the devices, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 allows its users to update or upgrade their RAM and storage space based on their accord. This freedom, however, is not offered by Apple for any of its laptops. In fact, Apple has taken precautionary measures to avoid non-Apple technicians tinkering with their device. In their recent products, Apple has implemented measures to restrain users from unscrewing the laptop cases and enhancing the hardware, such as the RAM. These screws were purported to be extremely unique to Apple that a special screwdriver is necessary to open the device. According to some experts, these special screwdrivers are only available to technicians exclusively authorized by Apple.
