'Supernatural' season 11 spoilers: Castiel gets desperate, seeks help from Metatron in episode 6

 CW

"Supernatural" season 11 has focused a  lot on the Winchester brothers hunting down the Darkness, which has now taken on the form of a young girl named Amara (Emily Swallow). To help the brothers contain what they unleashed, Castiel (Misha Collins) gets desperate in episode 6 and seeks out help from Metatron (Curtis Armstrong).

Metatron has been portrayed in the past as a scheming angel who aimed to gain God's tablet in order to completely rule over Heaven. Throughout the past seasons, he had been locked in a dungeon, freed and eventually out on his own, although season 11 hasn't revealed what the scheming angel has been up to thus far.

According to the official synopsis from TV.com, Metatron will be revealed to be a freelance videographer for the local news and he isn't really motivated to help the Winchesters or Castiel, particularly because he seems to have grown to like his new vocation.

However, Castiel will point out that being God's scribe, Metatron would be the only person who knows anything useful about the Darkness and how it can be defeated or sealed back again. It is likely this episode will see Castiel, Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) do everything they can to convince Metatron to join their side.

It is possible that Metatron is the only angel with any knowledge regarding the Darkness since the latter was defeated and sealed by God presumably before Creation even began.

While the trio are busy working on a plan to defeat the Darkness, Crowley (Mark Sheppard) will begin to lose his hold on Amara, which means the latter might break free and start doing things her own way, completely unleashing the powers of the Darkness unto the world before Castiel and the Winchesters can do anything about it.

"Supernatural" season 11 episode 6 will air this Nov. 11.
