Super Smash Bros 4 characters update: Daybreak combinable item added

News from Masahiro Sakurai's Miiverse page regarding updates on Super Smash Bros 4 reveal a new combinable and character trophy.

The trophy is the Daybreak combinable item. This is similar with the Dragoon.

"Look at these three radiant pieces," writes Sakurai.

"Yup, you guessed it! It's another combinable item like the Dragoon ... the Daybreak," he revealed.

Sakurai then subsequently asked, "How powerful will its beam blast be?"

In what appears to be an answer to his earlier musing, Sakurai shared, "You can fire shooting items while moving backward and forward. Change direction by flicking the Control Stick or Circle Pad toward the back of the fighter."

With regard the announced character trophy, Sakurai disclosed that it will be the Prince of the Sablé Kingdom. However, he clarified that the Prince will not be available as a playable character.

"He's the Prince of the Sablé Kingdom. He's from the Game Boy game Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru (translated as The Frog For Whom the Bell Tolls), which was only released in Japan," Sakurai described.

To provide additional information for his fans to anticipate, Sakurai said, "He transforms into a snake or a frog, and unloads multiple attacks on any opponent he catches. Keep attacking your foes when they're trapped in his dust cloud."

In an earlier report, three new characters were revealed. These included two characters from the Fire Emblem: The Awakening and one from the F-Zero.

To be specific, the characters from the Fire Emblem are Lucina and Robin while the one from F-Zero is Captain Falcon. All three are going to be part of the playable character list.

Sources reveal that Lucina will retain her original form in the game. However, Robin is rumored to be made available in two forms, namely, male and female. The differences between the forms will be apparent in the new costumes and abilities.

Unconfirmed reports also reveal that Meta Knight from Kirby and Ness from Earthbound might be included in the roster.

Fans of the hit franchise were highly appreciative of the addition of these well-loved characters.
