 Cartoon Network

As previously reported, "Steven Universe" season 3 came to a halt after 26 episodes and season 4 has officially begun. As of the time of writing two episodes have already aired and episode 3, titled "Buddy's Book," will air next as the series continues to air new episodes every Thursday until the first week of September.

"Buddy's Book" doesn't have an official promo trailer, but according to a report from Movie News Guide, fans speculate that Connie and Steven will find a long lost book written by Buddy and that the episode may have a strong focus centering on William Dewey, a close friend of Buddy who was introduced in the episode "Historical Friction."

It is also speculated that the book will dive deeper into the lore of the Crystal Gems and will answer how or why the Gems chose Beach City as their new home. These plot details have yet to be confirmed but they are stated to be the likely plot arcs given how the following episode focuses on Connie and Steven honing their skills, likely based from something they learn in the book.

The book  is also speculated to contain information regarding corrupted Gems and how regular Gems become that way. The book is likely going to showcase how a corrupted Gem can be stopped or brought back to a normal state and it is this skill that the two might be practicing in episode 4.

"Steven Universe" season 4, episode 3 is scheduled to premiere this coming Aug. 18 and will be followed by episode 4 the coming Thursday, Aug. 25. The fifth and last episode that will air for the time being for season 4 will air on Sept. 1. This weekly premiere of episodes is a departure as the show used to drop five episodes in a single week. It is unknown when the next series of season 4 episodes will launch.
