'Steven Universe' season 3 air date: episode 6 sees Steven learn to float

 Cartoon Network

"Steven Universe" season 3 episode 6 has already aired in France but is just about to launch in the U.S. In this episode Steven is rewarded by the Malachite with a brand new-ability. As stated in a report from the Bitbag, Steven will now have the ability to float and this will be the main cause of problems.

The Malachite grants Steven this ability due to the latter's good deeds in past episodes. It is noted in the report that in the most recent episodes, Steven had taken the time to help Peridot get through to Lapiz Lazuli and also spent time helping Lapis Lazuli adjust to life on Earth.

At first this ability will be played to Steven's amusement, floating his way to every destination he needs to reach. However, trouble begins to brew when he discovers he can't get down and this is where the rest of the episode will focus its attention on. Steven has helped everyone else and now his friends will need to help him get back down.

It is also noted that the third season has touched upon LGBT identity issues and episode 6 will continue this trend, particularly with the characters of Ruby and Sapphire who previoulsy flirted with each other, indicating they were into a same-sex relationship. Showrunner Rebecca Sugar addressed this in an interview with Movie Pilot.

"You can't wait until kids have grown up to let them know that queer people exist. There's this idea that that is something that should only be discussed with adults - that is completely wrong. If you wait to tell queer youth that it matters how they feel or that they are even a person, then it's going to be too late," said Sugar.

"Steven Universe" season 3 episode 6 originally aired in France this past May 22 and is scheduled to release in the US this month.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
