'Star Wars: Episode 8' spoilers: Kelly Marie Tran's character detailed in new leak

Star Wars - Rey and Finn Lucasfilm

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has proven to be a massive success, and the franchise is currently in production with the next film in the series, the still-untitled "Star Wars: Episode 8." According to a new report from I Was Raised To Do One Thing, leaks have revealed the possible identity and role of one of the new cast members.

Kelly Marie Tran has been cast in the film but given that she was not in "The Force Awakens," it is safe to presume she is playing a brand-new character in the franchise. According to the report, Tran's character is named Aya, although there is the possibility that this name is temporary to avoid more leaks from releasing to the public during filming.

The report continues to state that Aya is an information broker who sells information to both the First Order and the Resistance, choosing neither side but her own. According to the report, she is going to have a scene with Finn (John Boyega) in a fancy alien bar where the latter might be buying for vital information.

However, as they are discussing their plans a group of Stormtroopers arrive and fire at Finn. Aya then helps Finn escape by leading him to a back exit. It is also stated that there are leaked photos of the movie in production where the supposed set of the alien bar might be taking place and Boyega was seen riding an alien-like mount, which might be what he is riding to escape the Stormtroopers.

As stated by the IBTimes, there are no confirmations that the leaks are true and as such the information should be treated as pure speculation. It is entirely possible that the scene has been fabricated and that Kelly Marie Tran is playing an entirely different character.

"Star Wars: Episode 8" is set to release in theaters on Dec. 15, 2017.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
