After the long wait, "Star Wars" fans finally got to catch a glimpse of the new movie in the franchise as the 88-second trailer of "The Force Awakens" was released Nov. 28. Fans couldn't get enough of it and has already dissected each part of the trailer. But what do Mark Hamill and George Lucas think about it?
Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker in the '70s "Star Wars" trilogy and reprises the role in the upcoming film, shared his opinion about it. Apparently, the iconic actor is more interested in seeing the fans watch the trailer than in watching the teaser itself.
He told IGN, "The most moving aspect of them releasing that trailer was watching a [video] of other people watching it. Sometimes you get sort of isolated and disconnected because I don't really follow it as closely as, say, [my son] Nathan does, but to see those people that thrilled, it was moving to me. I actually got a lump in my throat watching that."
Hamill really seems excited for the new movie. When he spoke to E! Online, he talked about the culture of spoilers today and how he doesn't understand it.
"I don't understand why people would want to know what happens! I love not knowing. It's a whole different world now where there's an industry whose entire goal is to leak – to leak the entire script. I don't understand it," he said.
It seems like Hamill and George Lucas are on the same boat. George Lucas directed all of the "Star Wars" movies in the past. "Episode VII" is the only one he isn't directing in the franchise, but still, he did have a consultant role to play in the movie.
When asked about what he thought about the trailer, Lucas told Page Six that he has not seen it yet.
He said, "I don't know anything about it. I haven't seen it yet. Because it's not in the movie theater. I like going to the movies and watching the whole thing there. I plan to see it when it's released."
Very little spoilers are expected to be released for the movie. According to reports, the cast is under a gag order to make sure nothing is leaked.
"Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" will be in theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
