EA DICE, the company behind "Star Wars: Battlefront II", has announced that they will be revamping the game's progression system, addressing the playerbase's concerns. More details regarding this will be released on March.

In the recent blog post, EA DICE has also revealed the launch of a new game mode called "Jetpack Cargo," which will be released in February. They described the game mode as a "frantic, fast-paced way to play" and that it will be available for a limited time only.

Following the end of the first season, a new season is about to take place. The developers have been looking into their experiences with the first season and will be implementing changes and new features soon. Further details will be revealed soon.

"Battlefront II's" current progression system consists of opening "Loot Crates" using an in-game currency called "Credits." In those Loot Crates are Star Cards which increase your strength in battle. The feedback for this system has been quite mixed, prompting EA DICE to make some changes.

Microtransactions were originally intended to be included in the game as a way to speed up progression. However, it was met with so much controversy that the developers removed it just before the game was released.

The removal of microtransactions was supposed to be temporary. But, last December, EA's Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen said at the 37th Nasdaq Investor Conference that they "might not even re-implement" it anymore. The developers now want to focus more on improving the progression system without the microtransactions.

The controversy circulated the use of real-life money to purchase Loot Crates, which contain items directly related to increasing your strength in-game. This was not viewed in a positive light as the game might become pay-to-win.

"Star Wars: Battlefront II" was released for the PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One on November 2017. Months following the release, developers have made efforts to improve the game based on player feedback.
