'Star Wars 1313' update: Project may be revived

Back before Disney acquired Lucasfilm, there were plans for a dark and gritty video game set in the "Star Wars" universe called "Star Wars 1313." There was also a planned live-action TV series in the same vein titled "Star Wars Underworld." According to a report from /Film, there are now talks of reviving the projects but in a different way.

Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy explained that the studios are currently going through the unused material of the two projects. It is unlikely that "Star Wars 1313" will still move forward as an M-Rated video game and the chances of "Star Wars Underworld" moving as a dark, live-action TV series is even lower.

However, elements of both projects may be used for a different television series or future "Star Wars Anthology" movies.

"We don't want to throw any of that stuff away," explained Kennedy. "It's gold. And it's something we're spending a lot of time looking at, poring through, discussing, and we may very well develop those things further. We definitely want to."

According to the report, there are rumors of Lucasfilm possibly taking these elements to produce a "Star Wars" series on Netflix. If this pushes through then it is expected that the mature content of the scrapped video game and television series may be brought back here.

There are also rumblings of an "Anthology" film focusing squarely on Boba Fett. There was going to be one and it was set to be directed by Josh Trank but this project fell apart right around the same time news started breaking out that Trank's "Fantastic Four" reboot was turning into a horrible film.

It is speculated that the cancelled Boba Fett film may be revived using the material from the two scrapped projects.

While "Star Wars 1313" no longer exists, concept art can still be found online [image above]. The game was set to take place in Level 1313 of Coruscant and would let the player control a bounty hunter, presumably a young Boba Fett, instead of a Force-wielding Jedi.
