An unverified Twitter account claiming to be owned by the Russo brothers — Joe and Anthony, the directors of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and are working on "Captain America: Civil War" — recently posted a few photos that reveal some hints for "Civil War" and what some are speculating to be a glimpse of Spider-Man's costume.
There are two photos that draw immediate connection to Spider-Man, who is going to be played by actor Tom Holland. The first image is what appears to be goggles with shutters, sitting on top of a red cloth. BirthMoviesDeath speculates that this could mean Spider-Man's mask will use these goggles to convey expressions.
Previous film incarnations of the character featured a white glass or fabric over the eyes. This makes the mask look similar to the one in the comic books but it doesn't really allow for Spider-Man to emote with his face. With these shutters, he can squint or go wide-eyed, allowing the audience to get a better feel of what he is expressing instead of just relying on his dialogue and head tilts.
The second photo showcases a red and black fabric which the report harkens back to the original Spider-Man design drawn by artist Steve Ditko. Back when Spider-Man debuted, he donned a black and red costume before the popular red and blue. Marvel has gone back to the red and black for Miles Morales, who also donned the moniker of Spider-Man.
It is unsure at this point if this Twitter account is real or just a prank. However, the report cites that several key figures working for Disney and Marvel films are following this account, hinting that it might be real. Some of the people following this "Russo Brothers" account include Jason Stamey, a casting director for Marvel films, and Ryan Stankevitch, the Disney vice president for global marketing.
Spider-Man will make his first appearance in "Captain America: Civil War" which will be released on May 6, 2016 while the solo "Spider-Man" film will be shown in theaters on July 28, 2017.
