Sony Xperia Z3 to pack striking similarities to Xperia Z2

The latest report suggested that the Sony Xperia Z3 is reported to highly resemble its predecessor, Xperia Z2.

Sony is known for releasing their smartphone every six months. Earlier this year, the Japanese company introduced the Xperia Z2. The successor of the said handset will come soon. Reports claimed that the Xperia Z3 will be a slightly redesigned version of the Xperia Z3, set to arrive this fall.

According to the benchmarking authority GFX Benchmark, the two Sony Xperia smartphones will be very similar. First, the two handsets will have the same form factor that the Xperia smartphone has become famous for. This is the rectangular form factor.

Sony Xperia Z2 and Z3 will also have the same specs and features such as 5.2 inches Full HD screen display, 2.3GHz quad core Snapdragon 801processor paired with 3GB of RAM as well as 20.7 MP rear camera. However, Sony has not revealed the official specs and features of the upcoming Sony smartphone.

According to rumors, the Xperia Z3 smartphone will sport a 5.15-inch screen display; quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor; 3GB RAM; 32GB of internal storage capacity, microSD card slot for additional storage; 20.7-megapixel rear camera, and a 2-megapixel front shooter.

Reports stated that Sony Xperia Z3 will arrive at the IFA event in Berlin, based on previous releases. The first Xperia smartphone was introduced in the market at last year's IFA event. If rumors proved to be true, the new Sony devices will be released on Sept. 3.

A post in Xperia Blog reads: "Mark your diaries Sony fans, we have received word that Sony's 2014 IFA press conference will be taking place on Wednesday 3rd September from 16:15 to 17:00 CEST. Expect new smartphones such as the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact to be announced along with hopefully some new wearables such as the SmartWatch 3 and the latest iteration of lens-style cameras."
