'Sleepy Hollow' season 4 spoilers, cast news: Abbie's replacement revealed

 Fox

"Sleepy Hollow" season 3 ended with a cliffhanger when Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) was killed off before the end of the finale. According to a report from TV Line, her replacement has since been unveiled to be a character named Anna. While the names may be similar, the report's further description reveals them to be vastly different.

Unlike Abbie, who has seen supernatural beings since she was a child, Anna is described as a skeptic and is also a single mother. Her skepticism abou the supernatural world and its powerful beings is stated to be the major cause of conflict when she is designated to work with Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison).

She is furthermore described to be a Secret Service agent and is also going to carry a certain aura of toughness to her, making her more than just an ally to Crane but also as a formidable force that can stand up on her own. This particularly shows when she stands to do anything to protect her daughter, 11-year old Stella.

"She's got a tough, take-charge personality, punctuated by a wry sense of humor," states her character description. "She's a born leader, but she also has a softer, more caring side which she rarely shows."

In regards to her background, Anna is revealed to be a former military officer and has since been working in a Secret Service division known only as the "Basement," which the report harkens to the "X-Files" series.

According to the report, the role has yet to be cast and no list of potential actors have been released. It is stated that the studios are looking for an actress in her 30's although there are no exact details regarding physical features and qualities that are required for the role.

"Sleepy Hollow" season 4 is expected to have a mid-season premiere as it has not been listed in the CW's Fall TV lineup.
