After much speculation online, Square Enix has finally confirmed that the next game in the "Tomb Raider" franchise will be coming to the PS4, Xbox One, and the PC platform fall of this year.

According to its official announcement, the game named "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" will be seeing a launch date of Sept. 14 this 2018. And unlike its previous iteration, the game will not be coming as a timed exclusive for Microsoft's console, the Xbox One. It will see a release on the mentioned platforms all at the same time.

Despite being confirmed earlier than expected, other details about the game are yet to be shared by Square Enix. The popular game creator has scheduled an official reveal this summer on April 27, which will answer all questions regarding the game's development and will most likely hint at the game's narrative. Also in this event, players will get the chance to get hands-on with the upcoming game.

Players can now register through the official website of the game in order to get a spot on the full-reveal event setup by Square Enix.

Aside from this official confirmation, Square Enix has also revealed a teaser trailer for "Shadow of the Tomb Raider," which gives fans a first-look on what is to come for the highly anticipated title.

Even before this year's "Tomb Raider" fiasco began, "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" has long been rumored to be underway specifically in back in 2015 when Square Enix CEO Phil Rogers accidentally spilled the beans and confirmed that there will be a third title in the current franchise.

In 2017, the company finally and officially revealed that the third game is in fact in the works; however, during that time, other details about the project were not shared.

"Shadow of the Tomb Raider" is now available for pre-order on Square Enix's online store, albeit only for the PC and PS4 versions. The game is valued $60 for both platforms.
