'Scandal' season 5 episode 15 spoilers: Olivia struggles to save Mellie

Liv has two things to deal with in "Scandal" season 5. ABC

"Scandal" season 5 episode 15 will see Olivia (Kerry Washington) do everything to save Mellie (Bellamy Young) after the latter commits a public mistake, as stated by the official synopsis from Spoilers TV. The official promo trailer reveals that Mellie will be making a faux pas on national television.

Olivia is also shown getting intimate once again with President Fitz (Tony Goldwyn). Instead of just getting romantic, the scene does depict Olivia scheming something dark and vengeful. It is possible that she has a back-up plan with things currently going the way she wants them to.

It is possible that Olivia will be aiding Mellie to keep her public relation up but given the relationship of these two characters, it is speculated that Olivia is actually trying to keep Mellie on a downward spiral. But with no confirmation this, it is still subject to change.

The official synopsis also reveals that the Gladiators will discover something valuable regarding Jake (Scott Foley) and his love life. The exact details of what they discover has not yet been revealed, although it is widely speculated that this may be further related to Jake's issues with Olivia's past, although nothing is yet confirmed.

It is also highlighted in the synopsis that David Rosen (Joshua Malina) will seek advice in regards to his love triangle with Liz North (Portia de Rossi) and Susan Ross (Artemis Pebdani). Unfortunately, neither the trailer nor the synopsis reveals whom David will approach in order to gain comfort and advice.

Fans speculate that David's actions will have negative effects on Susan given that the title for the succeeding episode is "The Miseducation of Susan Ross."

Spoiler TV has yet to reveal who the guest stars are for the episode. "Scandal" season 5 episode 15, "Pencils Down," will air this March 24.
