SAT-7 wins award for kids website

SAT-7 KIDS have been awarded one of the most prestigious media awards in the Arab world.

The website - www.sat7kids.com - won the gold prize in the TV and Radio category of the 8th Pan Arab Web Awards.

Nearly two years of creative work went into the new SAT-7 KIDS website, launched last December to mark the channel's fourth anniversary.

Over nine million children tune into SAT-7 KIDS across the Arab world.

It saw off competition from 450 other websites to scoop the accolade, which will be presented at a ceremony on 22 September in Sharm El Sheikh.

The ceremony will be attended by Arab Ambassadors, competition winners, and national and media leaders.

The website features games, quizzes, devotionals, daily Bible verses, chat forums and news.

Around 10,000 people visit the website each month.

SAT-7 KIDS Broadcast and Audience Relations Manager, Andrea Elmounayer, led the design team behind the website.

She said the team wanted a website that would help children practise their reading skills while getting to know the Bible and Jesus better.

"Two years ago, a new up-to-date SAT-7 KIDS website was a dream for me and now we are realising it," she said.
