The Samsung Galaxy S6 release date is expected to be announced in February 2015 at the Mobile World Congress event, which is exactly a year since the announcement of its predecessor.

The South Korean tech giant must do a lot of work to make the Galaxy S6 stand out sincethe Galaxy S5, is considered as less powerful than other newly-released smartphones. That is, in less than six months' time, a slew of more powerful smartphones emerged that left the Galaxy S5 biting the dust.

Although Samsung has not revealed nor hinted on the upcoming features of the Galaxy S6, rumors have already started to emerge. Below are the top five rumored features of the Samsung Galaxy S6.

4K screen resolution

One of the latest purported features of the Samsung Galaxy S6 is the screen panel, which is said to remain unchanged. Rumors claim that the Galaxy S series will no longer go beyond the 5-inch screen size. However, to compensate for the lack of increase in size, the company will up the pixel resolution and will boast 4K screen display, a first in the smartphone industry.

Snapdragon 810 processor

A slew of smartphones powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset will arrive staring early next year. The Snapdragon 810 chipset is the company's first 20nm processor to rival Samsung's Exynos 5433 and Apple's A8 processors. The upcoming chipset will support both 32 and 64-bit operating systems.

Android 5.0 Lollipop

With the announcement of the new Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, it is a no-brainer that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 will run with the said operating system, which supports 64-bit chipsets.

20.7-megapixel back camera

Samsung Galaxy S6 will reportedly pack a 20.7-megapixel camera at the back. It will be a big jump from the Galaxy Note 4's 16 MP rear shooter.

Iris scanner

Samsung is rumored to pack the futuristic iris scanner, which is meant to strengthen the security of the device. However, it is still unknown how this particular feature will be implemented in the new device.
