Samsung Galaxy S6 release date, specs news: Smartphone sent to India for testing

The Samsung Galaxy S6 release date will happen very soon, according to new rumors, as the smartphone has already been sent to India for testing.

The rumor is supported by import/export tracking website Zauba wherein the smartphone appeared with its alleged model number – SM-G920F.

But despite the report in Zauba, nothing concrete about the device has been revealed by Samsung. However, if persistent rumors are to be believed then the Galaxy S6 will be released earlier than originally expected.

Reports have claimed that the upcoming Samsung flagship smartphone will be announced in January 2015 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2015, or at the latest in the first quarter of next year. Previous speculation led others to believe that the smartphone will be released a day ahead of Mobile World Congress in March.

There are a lot of hints that Samsung Galaxy S6 is coming soon as the alleged handset was spotted in a AnTuTu benchmark. Moreover, the prototype image of the device emerged online. The current Samsung Galaxy S5 is also being offered at a discounted price from various carriers and retailers - another sign that a new update to the device line is approaching.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is reported to be greatly improved compared to the previous Samsung Galaxy S5. Rumors have stated that the S6 will pack a 5 inch screen display with quad HD resolution, Qualcomm 20nm Snapdraon 810 chipset or octa core Exynos 7 SoC with 64-bit architecture paired 4GB of RAM.

The smartphone will run with the new Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and be available in 32 GB and 64 GB storage variants with a microSD slot for additional storage. Other rumored specs of the device are 16 MP rear camera and 3.1 MP front-facing camera and a longer battery life.
