A new Samsung Galaxy S6 concept image highly resembles the iPhone with edge-to-edge screen display. The new render sports a metal casing, ditching the old plastic case used on previous Samsung smartphones.

It has been a common rumor that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 will have an edge-to-edge display to enlarge the panel without increasing the overall size of the handset. According to Concept Phones, the render features dual front speakers and a 24-megapixel back camera, imagined to be from Sony. The flash and heart sensor are found below the camera.

Meanwhile, recent rumors claim that Samsung Galaxy S6 will be launched at the Consumer Electronics Show next month, while others think that it will be released in March at the Mobile World Congress. Supposed specs and features of the handset leaked online, said to have been spotted in AnTuTu benchmark. An image of an alleged prototype of the device made the rounds.

Samsung Galaxy S6 is reported to bring a lot of improvements to the previous Samsung Galaxy S5. Rumors say that the device will have the following specs and features:

  • 5-inch screen display with quad HD resolution
  • Qualcomm 20nm Snapdraon 810 chipset or octa-core Exynos 7 SoC with 64-bit architecture
  • 4 GB of RAM
  • Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system
  • 32 GB and 64 GB storage variants with microSD slot for additional storage
  • 16-megapixel rear camera and 3.1-megapixel front-facing camera
  • Longer battery life

The S6 is expected to come out soon as the current Samsung Galaxy S5 is now being offered for less, with various retailers offering a myriad of deals and discounts. A price cut is usually an indication that the next generation of the device is on its way. Also, this is a perfect marketing strategy in exhausting the remaining stocks of the handset as well as in renewing the market's interest in the smartphone.

However, the South Korean company has not yet commented on the rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S6.
