Samsung announced the new Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge at the recent IFA 2014 trade show that took the attention of the consumers away from the rumors of the next generation Samsung Galaxy S6.
New Samsung Galaxy S6 concept image popped up online and showed a device that ditched the Home button and was replaced with either a fingerprint sensor or a new camera or a speaker grill.
According to Concept-Phones, the latest render was created by designer Hasan Kaymak. The corners of the device are rounded and it sports a pretty compact and ergonomic design. The battery will also be increased by 20 percent.
Rumors claim that the handset will pack a slightly larger screen display of 5.2 or 5.3 inches in size with 4K or 3,840 x 2,160 pixel resolution that will yield to clearer and more vivid pictures. The smartphone will be encased in a metal body, dropping the usual plastic casing of Samsung Galaxy S smartphones.
Another rumored feature of the Samsung Galaxy S6 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 or 810 chipset with 64-bit architecture. The handset will also have a co-processor Adreno 430 GPU to support high resolution images and videos. The handset will run with the upcoming Android 5.0 L OS, which is coming in October. At the back, many are expecting at least 20 MP camera. As for the pricing, the rumored handset will cost roughly the same as its predecessor.
According to grapevine, the Samsung Galaxy S6 will be released in April 2015. The South Korean company will probably follow its usual release date for the Galaxy S smartphones. Just like early this year, the Samsung Galaxy S5 was announced in February and was made available for purchase in April. In the past, the Mobile World Congress trade show has been the launching platform of Samsung Galaxy S smartphones. Thus, it is likely that the next handset will come in the said event next year.
However, nothing is official yet until Samsung announces the details of its smartphone and its roadmap.
