The Android 5.0 Lollipop OS for the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be coming to the U.S. soon, although the official release date of the update is still unknown.

More countries in Europe are now enjoying Android 5.0 in their Galaxy S5 handsets as it seems that Samsung is focusing on European countries when it comes to rolling out the update. The sweet taste of Lollipop has reached Poland, Spain, Russia, and the U.K. Samsung-centric tech blog SamMobile added that the tech giant will soon roll out the update to some other European nations such as the Czech Republic and Romania, and more users in Spain.

Surprisingly, some users in a few Asian countries like Hong Kong and Malaysia reportedly received the OS update, which hints that Asian countries are next in line. The fast rollout of the 5.0 update suggests that Galaxy S5 users in the far west will see it on their handsets soon.

It can be surmised that Samsung is very systematic in rolling out the latest Android update.

Samsung Galaxy S4 getting the Android 5.0.1 instead

While Galaxy S5 users are waiting for the Android 5.0 Lollipop, its predecessor is predicted to receive the 5.0.1 version instead. A new Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OS update for the abovementioned handset has been spotted in a Chinese forum and was immediately picked up by XDA developers and other Android developers.

Although this is not the first ROM build for the Galaxy S4, developers claimed that this firmware is almost ready for public consumption and will work on different variants of the handset: GT-I9500, GT-9502, GT-9508, and GT-9508v versions, according to a report by GSM Arena

However, the firmware still has a few problems. The build has a Chinese system language and some of the system messages and functions remain in the Chinese language even though users can choose the English option. Those who are going to update your handsets with the build must not forget to back up their device as the build will wipe out everything that is in the phone's internal storage.
