Samsung Galaxy S5 received a price cut that hinted the arrival of an updated model soon.

The recent price cuts for the Samsung Galaxy S5 were reported to be from India. International Business Times cited Sulekha, which reported that the original price is 51,500 rupees, but retailers slashed the price and now offer the device for as low as 36,125 rupees. Although the discounted Galaxy S5 is in India, it is very unusual to see a price cut so early given that the said device was only just released earlier this year.

Other Samsung devices also received a price cut. On Amazon, buyers can purchase the Samsung Galaxy S3 and S3 Mini for a cheaper price tag. The online retailer is selling the international version of the 2012 Samsung smartphone powered by a quad-core Exynos processor and 1 GB RAM for $319.99 from its original price of $799.99. Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, on the other hand, has a similar design to its big brother but with lower-end specs and now costs $194.14, instead of the usual $429.99.

These price cuts prompted talks that the Samsung will release a new high end smartphone soon. Meanwhile, there were talks about the premium smartphone Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime also known as Galaxy F.

In the past few weeks, reliable tipster @evleaks posted a few purported photos of the device as well as leaked specifications for the upcoming smartphone. The Galaxy F was seen on the FCC's listings, with a device under model numbers SM-G906S, SM-G906K and SM-G906L having recently been certified for NFC, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

Rumors claimed that the premium smartphone will be launched alongside the company's phablet, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 at the IFA 2014 event in September. According to rumors, Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime or Galaxy F will be available in two hues, which is black and silver. However, a gold tone model emerged recently online.

Other rumors claimed that the device will pack a5.3 inch 1440 x 2560 QHD screen display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 16MP camera with OIS. The device will also be dustproof and waterproof.
