Samsung is reportedly working on a new line of smartphones to follow the lead of Galaxy Alpha, which is a premium smartphone with metallic casing. BGR cited Korean IT Times claiming that the Galaxy A3, the Galaxy A5 and the Galaxy A7 will be launched and will be on sale early this month.
It is speculated that the top model of the series, the Galaxy A7, will feature a 5.2-inch 1080p display, an octa-core processor or Exynos chipset, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB internal storage, the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS, a 12-megapixel camera at the back, and a 5-megapixel front camera.
The Galaxy A5, on the other hand, is predicted to boast a 5.2-inch HD display (some say it's 5 inches), a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS, 16 GB internal storage, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, and a 2300 mAh battery (or 3200 mAh).
Meanwhile, the Galaxy A3 will purportedly pack a smaller display at 4.8 inches, a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon CPU and an Adreno 306 GPU, 8-megapixel back and 5-megapixel front cameras, and will run the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS.
Reports further say that Samsung is targeting Chinese smartphone Xiaomi, which is named as the third largest smartphone maker in the world. Thus, the new smartphone line will be mid-range handsets. While it will reportedly be initially released in emerging markets, it is also expected to eventually make its way to major and first-world markets.
Only last summer, Samsung released the Galaxy Alpha, which is said to qualify as a flagship smartphone with its metal casing. The handset comes with fingerprint scanner, ultra power saving mode, S Health, and connectivity support for Galaxy Gear.
However, Samsung has not revealed the official release date of the aforementioned handsets yet.
