Salvation Army Congress to be ‘Longer, Later, Louder’

On the 19th-20th November the Wembley Conference Centre will be hosting the 2005 Salvation Army Conference. The theme of the event will be the words of Acts 2:42, with people of all ages being invited to participate in worship, celebration, prayer, and teaching and to form a Christian community for the 21st Century.

|PIC1|The weekend will also see an after hours performance by the Christian artists Brett Riches and Emma Pears. The event entitled, ‘Longer, Later, Louder’, will be hosted by the Salvation Army youth wing ALOVE, but is open to people of all ages.

The singer songwriter Brett Riches believes in communicating Christian ideas through music. In May 2004 he released his debut solo album: ‘Hope for New Day Coming’. Youth Events, acoustic café gigs, concerts and radio shows have all played host to Brett Riches music.

In November 2004 Brett Riches was selected from a short-list of University students (Riches himself studies Commercial Music in Bath) to get to the MBF awards final for song creation. Brett won the award and uses the prize money both to develop his own record label and to promote both himself and other new artists.
