Players will now be penalized each time they quit a ranked match while playing "Rocket League."
The change comes courtesy of the version 1.03 update that has been released for the game.
The new mechanic works by penalizing the first player who quits a ranked match in "Rocket League." If a player does decide to quit a ranked match, then he or she will be banned from doing any matchmaking for 15 minutes, according to Polygon.
With the new mechanic in place, the hope is that more players will be deterred from quitting ranked matches because of the time penalty, although its effects will be unclear until it has been in the game for a while.
Players will also be getting two new toppers via the newest update, and they are Cherry Top and Propellerhead. The two toppers are not just aesthetic additions either, as Cherry Top comes with a working and rotating light while Propellerhead has a blade that functions the same way.
Thanks to the latest patch, players will now also be given the ability to use Quick Chat commands across platforms, according to PlayStation Lifestyle. This means that players communicating on a personal computer (PC) and a PlayStation 4 can communicate just as well as two others who may be utilizing the same platform.
Another change being made to "Rocket League" will affect the game's AI. With the update, the AI bots will now automatically assume the average skill level of all players currently in the game.
Trophy changes have also been made in "Rocket League." Players can now claim the Virtuoso achievement through Steam, and it is now labeled properly as well. The Far, Far Away trophy for the PlayStation 4 can now also be unlocked via online play, thanks to update 1.03.
In addition, various bug fixes have been included in the latest enhancement.
The next update for "Rocket League" is expected to come out early this month, though no exact date has been given.
