The third season of the suspense TV show "Revenge" came to a close yesterday that left fans hanging and in a lot of shock and bewilderment due to the twists in the story. However, the next season will reveal more plot twists that fans should anticipate.

In the season finale episode of "Revenge," major characters died. Aiden Mathis (Barry Sloane) is dead. Many fans have expected his death as news broke out that Sloane will star in a new ABC series entitled "The Whispers".

Spoilers revealed that there are more deaths before the season closes. And indeed, one of the main antagonists in the series, Conrad Grayson (Henry Czerny) is dead too. This means that the series will never be the same again. A new antagonist may be introduced next season.

However, despite the deaths, the series resurrected the character of David Clarke (James Tupper). The plot twist received mixed reactions from fans. Some cheered upon David's return, while others think it was a poor decision and call from the producers and that they could do better.

Meanwhile, show runner Sunil Nayar explained the series' direction for the upcoming season in his interview with E! Online. Nayar said that David Clarke will be the "game changer" in the next season. "The best way to bring him back to the Hamptons is when we reintroduce him," Nayar said. Revenge Season 4 will see even more characters coming back to the series. David Clarke could be one of the key characters in the series as he was unable to realize the damage he had done to his daughter.

Moreover, Nayar explained the purpose of Aiden's death. He said that Aiden's death is "horrifying and devastating and allows the audience into the mindset of someone who wants revenge." Fans may see Amanda Clarke avenging Aiden's in the upcoming season.

The fourth season of "Revenge" is set to premiere in September.
