'Reign' season 3 spoilers: Mary and Catherine collaborate to uncover secrets of Don Carlos in episode 7

 CW

Following the death of Francis (Toby Regbo), "Reign" season 3 episode 7 will cook up even more surprises as it will also serve as the mid-season finale. Titled "The Hound and the Hare," the episode will see Mary (Adelaide Kane) ask for Catherine's (Megan Follows) to discern what secret Prince Don Carlos (Mark Ghanime) has in hiding.

According to the official synopsis posted by Cartermatt, Mary will discover that Prince Don Carlos is keeping a secret but she won't be able to handle it on her own. This will force her to call upon the aid of Catherine, and despite their rough history together, they'll have to work together to figure out the bigger scheme the Spaniard is planning.

It appears as though Don Carlos is merely arriving as Mary's new suitor, and as stated in a report from IBTimes, Catherine will be advising her daughter-in-law to wed the Spaniard given that Spain is now the most powerful nation in Europe. How his secret will affect this plan has yet to be seen.

The Spaniard prince isn't the only one bringing trouble in the mid-season finale. According to the synopsis, a new ambassador representing the English courts, Gideon (Ben Geurens), will be ariving and almost immediately people will be suspicious regarding what his true intentions may be.

The report does cite that it would be good if no one dies this episode as fans are still recovering from the sudden death of Francis.

Fans looking forward to the show this week have been disappointed as the studios have decided to withhold the episode for the Thanksgiving weekend. Instead, the episode has since been delayed and will now air on Dec. 4.

This isn't the only change in schedule for "Reign" as a report from Design & Trend points out that it will later shift to an entirely new time slot starting in 2016.
