'Reign' season 3 episode 11 spoilers: Mary helps Catherine in 'Succession'

 The CW

After a long hiatus, "Reign" season 3 will be returning with episode 11 this coming end of April. Titled "Succession," the episode will deal with Catherine de' Medici (Megan Follows) as she deals with those who want to take her down from the throne, but according to a reprot from EnStarz, Mary (Adelaide Kane) will be staying to save the day.

Back in December, actress Adelaide Kane explained in an interview with The Reel Spin that Mary's position as a queen and confidant to Catherine will play a larger role when the series returns.

"These are politically volatile times," the actress explained. "A lot of shifting alliances and shifting power in France right now, and I think Catherine could really use Mary's support as another queen and as another female ruler in such an incredibly misogynistic patriarchal time when people are trying to cut Queen Catherine down."

This is even more evident in the trailer in which the words "fight fire with fire" are mentioned. The plot of Mary's return to Scotland is also addressed.

Fans who are aware of the real life story of Mary of Scotland will recall that over time, it was Catherine that would aid Mary in the long run, up to the point of Mary's return to Scotland and her eventual plot to overthrow Elizabeth I from the English throne.

While the exact nature of Mary's assistance is still unknown, the report also reveals that production for the season has come to an end. Actor Torrance Coombs, who portrays the character Bash, has revealed via Twitter that filming has officially ended, although he did not elaborate on any plot details that may unfold in the season finale.

Coombs did not answer when asked if season 3 was indeed going to be the final season for the show but fans have been speculating that this is the case. The third season has already been delayed in the middle of its scheduled run and there have been rumors of the show being cancelled due to its lower ratings.

"Reign" season 3 episode 11, "Succession," will air this coming April 25.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
