'Red Dead Redemption 2' release date news - Game rumored to be unveiled at E3

Red Dead Redemption Rockstar Games

"Red Dead Redemption 2" has been rumored for some time now and with E3 already on the way in Los Angeles, California it is highly speculated that the game will be unveiled by developer Rockstar Games during the expo. According to Forbes, it may even be announced during the Microsoft press conference.

The report states that there is a chance that "Red Dead Redemption 2" may be announced by Sony given the strong relationship Rockstar Games has with Sony and the release of their titles on the PS3 and PS4, but the report cites that Microsoft might be the one making the announcement.

It is further explained that Microsoft might be making the first move in order to capitalize on the possibility of releasing the first "Red Dead Redemption" for Xbox One Backwards Compatibility. It was previously reported that the first game is being prepared for backwards compatibility and Microsoft might take advantage of this to promote the second game.

Fans speculate even further that by enticing gamers with both "Red Dead Redemption" and "Red Dead Redemption 2," Microsoft may be able to draw in higher sales for the rumored Xbox One Slim or the rumored Xbox One upgrade that is being designed to rival the PS4 Neo.

Forbes reiterates that "Red Dead Redemption 2" is most likely already in development given how much information has been leaked over the past few months. There have been leaked images of a supposed map, resume information from former employees and the game's story is stated to be a prequel of some sorts.

It is also explained that Rockstar Games has ignored E3 in the past and while there is a chance of the company revealing "Red Dead Redemption 2" during the expo it is entirely possible they will wait a while until the hype on other games such as "The Last Guardian" has died out before putting the spotlight on their game.
