Fans of the American drama series "Ray Donovan" has been scouring the internet for bits and pieces of information they can get regarding the fate of the show and its characters. It appears nothing is still confirmed as of the moment.

"Ray Donovan's" season 4 finale proved to be a disappointment for some avid viewers of the show, but this got the audience curious as to what will happen next. Whether this was deliberate to get the fans more invested in the story, no one knows yet for sure.

According to Game N' Guide, season 5 could be greenlit with 12 episodes under its belt, and production could start early next year. This is something that a lot of fans are hopeful for, given the curious case left wide open after the season 4 finale.

There are other unconfirmed reports, though, stating that a new season may not come to fruition, as Showtime may have opted to end the American series. There are also rumors that it may still have a fifth and final season, but it will have fewer episodes.

Another speculation that got even more loyal fans worried and excited at the same time is the theory that one of the characters may die, BreatheCast reports. There is a possibility that one of Ray Donovan's (Liev Schreiber) closest family members may be meeting an untimely death for the season premiere, should a new season be made.

Showtime has been keeping mum with regards to all the predictions and speculations made over the characters and the fate of the show. To some, this looks like a good gauge of the show's success, while for others the deafening silence may be a turn for the worst. Fans can only hope for the former.

"Ray Donovan" is a series that revolves around a man who does the dirty work for LA's power moguls. The release of his father from prison, played by Jon Voight, marks the time where the drama unfolds.
