Prince Harry and Meghan Markle royal wedding details: Date, location, and wedding costs revealed

Details about the upcoming royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have recently been made public. The ceremony is set to seal the engagement of the 33-year-old Prince of Wales to the 36-year-old American model and actress.

Official sources already announced some details about the upcoming wedding. The Kensington Palace's official Twitter account revealed most of the essentials in a photo tweet dated Nov. 28.

The royal wedding will occur sometime in May of 2018, but the exact day has not yet been made public. It should be noted that Prince William and Kate Middleton are currently expecting their third child, and it seems that Middleton's due date will fall before the actual date of the upcoming wedding.

Prince Harry and Markle will exchange vows in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. Kensington Palace spokesman Jason Knauf stated in a Buckingham Palace briefing that Windsor Castle "is a very special place for Prince Harry." Furthermore, he added that Prince Harry and Markle were frequent visitors of the castle last year.

In the same briefing, Knauf added that the royal family would cover most of the wedding expenses, making it clear that British taxpayer money will not be used to pay for the ceremony.

No official guest list has been released yet, but the one sure guest would be Queen Elizabeth II herself. Former United States President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama might get an invitation, as Prince Harry maintains a good relationship with the former president. It is not yet known if U.S. President Donald Trump will be invited.

Markle will officially become a British citizen after the wedding. Before the ceremony she will be baptized and confirmed in the Church of England.

There is currently no official word as to whether or not the exact date will be a paid holiday for British workers. However, since Prince Harry is fifth in line to the throne, making his wedding day a holiday is said to be unlikely.
