'Pretty Little Liars' season 7 spoilers: Script for episode 1 teases Hanna's fate

Hanna's fate will be revealed in "Pretty Little Liars" season 7. Freeform

I. Marlene King, creator of the "Pretty Little Liars" series based on the novels by Sara Shepard, recently posted a preview of the season 7 episode 1 script via Twitter. This short snippet, which is basically just the intro card for the first episode, has gotten fans speculating about the fate of Hanna (Ashley Benson).

Hanna took the blame for Charlotte's (Vanessa Ray) death and despite the effort of the main cast of characters, Hanna's life was still put to danger when she was suddenly kidnapped in the season 6 finale. The character was last seen being dragged down the stairs to the basement of the same church where Charlotte was murdered.

King's Twitter post reveals that the premiere episode will open in a forest during the middle of the night. Fans have since taken this as a hint that Hanna may have escaped her kidnapper and is now on the run for her life. This theory was further fueled by actress Benson in an interview with Entertainment Online.

"You know, it's not out of the question," Benson stated when asked if Hanna or any of the main girls might be killed of. "Marlene has hinted to that too, just to get the fans curious. I mean, it really could be Hanna, you never know. You may not see me next season, guys."

She then gave out a laugh and expressed she was only joking but did confirm that Hanna and all of the other characters will be in grave danger. This response is what many fans have taken as a sign that the opening scene in the forest is indeed showcasing Hanna running for her life.

The actress did express her hopes for the character to survive. Season 7 is touted to be the very last season of the show, indicating that the stakes are higher now and that any character might be killed off so it would be an achievement for the main girls to come off unscathed by the end of the show's finale.
