The release of the new legendary Pokemon, Volcanion, further implies that a new "Pokemon" game is set to release soon. But up to this point Nintendo has not given any official word regarding the highly rumored "Pokemon Z." According to a recent report, however, "Pokemon Z" might launch with a surprise gift to its players.
A report from Master Herald states that there is a possibily the mobile game "Pokemon Go" might be given as a free download for "Pokemon Z" consumers. This may be a part of Nintendo's method of celebrating the 20th anniversary of the franchise with its avid fans and players.
However, there is one little issue with this rumor: "Pokemon Go" has already been advertised as a free-to-play game. "Pokemon Go" is set to be free to download for both iOS and Android devices and the only transactions involve optional tools to make the game a smoother experience, such as buying more powerful Pokeballs.
While this may prove to be a problem for the rumor, there are still ways this could work out. "Pokemon Go" can be played with an optional watch-like accessory and it is possible that this may be given for free to a select number of consumers that purchase "Pokemon Z."
It won't be the first time Nintendo and Game Freak offered something for free with the purchase of their main "Pokemon" games. When "Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver" released, they were accompanied by a Poke-Walker, a device that allowed players to level up one of their critters simply by walking with the device on them.
There is also the possibility of giving "Pokemon Z" consumers a coupon that would allow them to download free items in "Pokemon Go," further encouraging them to give the mobile game a try.
At this point, however, there are no official statements from Nintendo and these reports should still be treated as mere rumors.
