'Pokémon Z' release date: New anime title, photos hint at game

Pokemon XY&Z - New Zygarde Forms and Ash-Greninja The Pokemon Company

The latest scans from CoroCoro magazine (via Anime News Network) reveal that a new "Pokémon" anime season is ready to premiere and the season's official title will be "Pokémon XY & Z," hinting that there will be a new game to accompany it as well.

The new show will premiere in Japan on Oct. 29 and will introduce a new list of Pokémon creatures to the game and anime world. However, the most prominent new creatures include numerous forms of the legendary Pokémon Zygarde as well as a new form for Greninja.

"Pokémon Z" has been rumored for a long time now, particularly after the release of "Pokémon X and Y." With new emphasis being poured on Zygarde, it is likely that the game will become a reality. According to a report by IGN, the game may focus on collecting the Zygarde cores and that the title will be released for the 3DS in 2016.

The first form of Zygard is known as the Zygarde Cell, and the description on the official Pokemon website even doubts if it should be classified as a Pokémon. Following this primitive state is the Zygarde Core, which is a creature barely more than a brain. Then there is the Zygarde 10% Forme, which resembles a canine and has incredible speed.

Zygarde 50% Forme follows, and this is the form seen in "Pokémon X and Y." It is descrbed as a legendary dragon that protects the ecosystem. The final form is the Zygarde Complete Forme, which is said to be stronger than legendary Pokémon Xerneas and Yveltal.

Then there is the Ash-Greninja, which is a new form for Greninja attained only when its bond with its trainer Ash has hit its limit. It is unknown if this is solely for the anime or if a similar mechanic will be introduced in "Pokémon Z" or whichever new main Pokémon game is going to be released.
