Pokemon X and Y: Gamestop offering wireless Pokemon giveaway

Participating Gamestop outlets are offering wireless Pokemon giveaways, enabling players to get a Pinsir or Heracross as well as a Mega Stone.

Pokemon collectors can simply visit Gamestop stores from Aug. 13 to Sept. 17 and use a pokeball to catch a Pokemon that may be missing from their X/Y 'dex. Moreover, avid Pokemon gamers were given a code for the Mega Stone.

This gives the Pokemon Y players a chance to catch the Bug-type Pinsir that is normally found in Pokemon X. On the other hand, Pokemon X gamers will have the rare chance to catch the Bug and Fighting-type Heracross that is usually found in Pokemon Y. This is perfect for Pokemon collectors.

Meanwhile, the Mega Stone is necessary for players in order to Mega Evolve the aforementioned Pokemons. In the game, the Heracronite stone is used to mega evolve Heracross into Mega Heracross, while the Pinsirite stone is utilized to mega evolve Pinsir into Mega Pinsir.

Unfortunately, the Mega Stones codes are in limited supply, so Pokemon trainers must hurry. To the dismay of many Pokemon fans worldwide, the promo is exclusive to GameStop stores in the United States.

On the other hand, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are reported to also have a remake after Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire is set to get facelift later this year. Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire were barely announced and rumors claimed that Diamond and Pearl remakes will follow suit.

However, many Pokemon fans took the rumors lightly and made fun of the unfounded reports. This should be taken as a grain of salt until Nintendo reveals something official.

Previous reports stated that the Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby versions will be released on November 21, exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS console. The mega evolutions of some of the new characters may be launched in 2015.
