The first few concrete details regarding "Pokemon Sun and Moon" are just around the corner. According to a report from Serebii, this week's episode of a Japanese variety show, "Gathering at the Pokémon House," will come with the first gameplay video of the 3DS titles. This episode airs on Sunday, April 3.

According to the report, the show will dedicate some time to allow series director Junichi Masuda, battle director Shigeki Morimoto and "Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire" director Shigeru Ohmori to reveal to the world the main gameplay details of "Pokemon Sun and Moon" as well as present the first official video footage of the game in action.

It is unclear at this point how much will be revealed but many speculate that the footage will focus on revealing the game's new engine, setting and main characters. It is also speculated by many fans that the footage will reveal several new Pokemon and even the three new starter Pokemon that players pick during the beginning of the game.

This will be the first time official footage and new details of the games will be released ever since The Pokemon Company announced "Pokemon Sun and Moon" during a special "Pokemon" Nintendo Direct last month, during the franchise's 20th anniversary celebration.

"Pokemon Sun and Moon" will officially launch the seventh generation of "Pokemon" games in the main franchise. The last main entries were the "Pokemon X and Y" games and it was speculated for many months that the game in development would be "Pokemon Z," only for it to turn out as an entirely new entry in the series.

"Pokemon Sun and Moon" have no specific release date at the time being but are scheduled to launch for the Nintendo 3DS by this holiday, ensuring they will be released before the end of the year. Also scheduled to release this year is "Pokemon Go," the first virtual reality title in the "Pokemon" franchise.
