'Pokemon Go' release date and demo expected to be revealed at Game Developers Conference

Very little information regarding "Pokemon Go" has been released ever since The Pokemon Company and Niantic Inc. unveiled the mobile game in 2015. However, according to a report from Gamespot, the title will be showcased during this year's Game Developers Conference in March. It is said that during this event, the release date and a demo may be revealed.

The official GDC website has listed "Pokemon Go" under one of its scheduled events and the presentation is now set to take place on Monday, March 14, at Room 2001, West Hall of the Moscone Center, San Francisco California. During the event, the CEO of Niantic Inc., John Hanke, will discuss the game's features.

It is now speculated that this presentation will not just reveal how "Pokemon Go" and the optional Bluetooth peripheral work but that an official release date may also be announced. The game is set to release this year and the GDC event may be Niantic Inc.'s window of opportunity to reveal when the game is coming out.

More importantly, the details from the GDC website state that attendees will be able to get a first-hand experience of "Pokemon Go," indicating that a playable demo may be available during the conference. However, it is undetermined at this point if the demo will only see a limited release for the attendees or if the demo will also launch simultaneously for users worldwide.

While not mentioned, many fans are also speculating that "Pokemon Z" may be announced during this same event. The Pokemon Company has teased fans with several new legendary Pokemon in recent months, the latest being the new addition known as Magearna, and fans have taken this as a hint that "Pokemon Z" is indeed in the works.

"Pokemon Z" is speculated to be the third game in the "Pokemon X and Y" series and that it may feature Zygarde as its primary legendary, although this is all based on fan speculation, with no official word coming from Nintendo or The Pokemon Company.
