'Pokémon GO' news: gym training and catching rare Pokémon easier with new update

"Pokémon Go" continues to see new updates roll out every few weeks, further fine-tuning the game to make it a better experience for avid gamers. Several new updates have since been announced, and they will be altering how players interact with gyms and how they catch rare Pokémon.

As stated by Niantic on their official site, one of the first new updates will make it easier to catch rare Pokémon. The basic gist of the announcement is that the more Pokémon of a certain type a player catches, the easier it will be to catch those kinds of Pokémon in the future.

"We are adding a new feature which grants a catch bonus when you earn medals based on catching certain types of Pokémon (Kindler, Psychic, Gardener, etc.). These new bonuses will give you a better chance of capturing Pokémon with a related type. For example, as you reach a higher tier for the Kindler Medal, your bonus to catch Fire-type Pokémon such as Charmander, Vulpix and Ponyta increases," reads the announcement.

The other announced update will alter how gyms work, particularly for training Pokémon. As stated in the announcement, players can now bring up to six Pokémon instead of just one to their team's Pokémon gyms. This ensures that more of their Pokémon can train at once.

It is also stated that opposing Pokémon will have their CP reduced for battles, ensuring that the Pokémon can be trained evenly. This will help a team train all of the Pokémon kept there quickly and on even grounds. It also ensures that players can have an impact on their gym, regardless of their Pokémon's CP level.

Unfortunately, neither of the updates have a formal release date yet, and it is possible that they will be launched in the next few weeks or at least before the year ends.
