PlayStation update: Games up to 80 percent off in 'Sale of the Dead'

With Halloween fast approaching, PlayStation is helping fans gear up for the season with massive discounts via "Sale of the Dead."

The sale's first week is now on a roll. In line with the season, the sale will feature a very long list of horror games and even a number of spooky movies. Owners of PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and even PlayStation Vita can avail of huge discounts on the PlayStation Store. Players should browse through all the pages as there are hundreds of choices.

The discounts range from as little as 20 percent to as high as 80 percent off. This includes "The Witcher 3: Wildhunt" at half the price at $24.99, "Resident Evil 7" at $35.99, "The Walking Dead: A New Frontier" at $13.74 and "Zombie Army Trilogy," which now costs only $14.99.

Players will not run out of jump scares, edge-of-their-seat thrillers, creepy crawlers and walking undead this Halloween with PlayStation's extensive game lineup.

Apart from huge discounts on spooky games, some EA Sports games are also on sale. Players can purchase "Madden NFL 18" and "NHL 18" at 33 percent off each, while "NBA Live 18" is available at 50 percent off.

"Fallout 4" is also on sale at just $20.09. Its downloadable content (DLC) can be bought at 33 percent off while its Season Pass is available at 40 percent less the original price.

With the spooky sale, those looking for some scare this Halloween will need to look no further than their gaming consoles. Week 1 of PlayStation's "Sale of the Dead" will be live until Tuesday, Oct. 24, 11 a.m. EDT.

Following the PlayStation Halloween sale, Sony is set to release its newest fun-sized gamepad for PS4. The Wired Mini Gamepad, which Sony says is 40 percent smaller than the standard DualShock 4, is specifically designed for children by gaming accessory maker Hori. It will be out on Nov. 6.
