The list of free games that PlayStation Plus members can download for the month of September has been announced via the official PlayStation blog. One of the newest additions is a title that was chosen by gamers through the "Vote to Buy Initiative."

The game that was voted for that got included in the list is "Grow Home," which is set for release this Sept. 1. The game involves players taking control of B.U.D. or Botanical Utility Droid as he needs to grow a vine to reach his spaceship. The game will be free for PlayStation Plus subscribers right upon its release.

"Armello" and "Zombie Vikings" were also voted highly and while they won't be free, they will be given a 30 percent discount from Sept. 1 to 15.

Other PS4 titles that will be available for free this September include the retro-style action-platformer "Super Time Force Ultra," the 2D puzzle-platformer "Teslagrad," and the recently released "Metroid"-like 2D action-platformer "Xeodrifter." The PS4 is capable of getting these four titles because of the implementation of Cross-Buy support.

PlayStation 3 owners with a PlayStation Plus subcription will be able to download "Teslagrad" and "Twisted Metal," the last entry in the car-combat video game franchise which also served as a reboot to the series, while PS Vita owners will have the classical "La Mulana Ex," which is a slightly toned down version of the original "La Mulana" and "Xeodrifter."

August saw the PS4 get titles such as  "Limbo" and "Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris" while PS3 got "God of War: Ascension" and "CastleStorm" which was also offered to the PS Vita. All three got "Sound Shapes" and "Stealth Inc. 2: A Game of Clones."

PlayStation Plus is a special paid subscription service open for all PlayStation owners — PS3, PS4 and PS Vita — that allows them to download select games for free each month as well as access to the Instant Game Collection which become locked and unplayable when subscription ends. It is also a necessary subscription to access the PS4's online multiplayer.
