Pastor David Ruzicka urges Christians not to display rainbow flag in support of gays

Pastor David Ruzicka is encouraging Christians not to display rainbow flags, which are being associated with gay pride and support for same-sex marriage.

Ruzicka said there are actually a lot of questions concerning Christians' compatibility with the practice of homosexuality and same-sex marriage. However, these things are completely at odds with what the Bible says. For Christians to condone and support this, it's like "trying to poke your finger in the eye of God," he said.

The Bible states that homosexuality and same-sex marriage are sins against God, likening them to adultery, stealing, and lying. People need not go through "verbal gymnastics" just to justify homosexuality in the Bible, said Ruzicka, since God's opinion on that matter is simple yet clear.

"God's also clear that every single person has sinned, and there is forgiveness for homosexuality just like there is for every other sin. He's clear that the hope for every man, woman and child, is salvation through Jesus Christ," he wrote in an article for the Christian Post.

He said homosexuality is a sin like other sins. If people cheat, lie, or steal, they get condemned for their actions. But if people engage in homosexuality nowadays, they get a parade, Ruzicka sadly noted.

"Homosexuality is the one sin that is paraded, prided, and promoted at every level of society," he said.

Ruzicka further warned Christians that if they participate in a same-sex marriage, then they would be violating their conscience. Moreover, it makes no sense for Christians to say "I'm for Jesus" and "I'm for same-sex marriage," since Jesus is totally against it.

"So pick a side. Choose this day who you will serve. If it's Jesus, do it honestly, up front, and embrace all He is and all He says. If it's same-sex marriage, do it honestly and declare that you're not buying what Jesus is selling," the pastor said.
