OS X Yosemite Gold Master version release date October 2014?

OS X 10.10 Yosemite is still currently in Beta version.

Reports from 9to5Mac revealed that Apple may be planning to release the Gold Master version of the OS X Yosemite roughly around October 10 this year. In addition, sources are claiming that Apple will be releasing preview updates every few weeks to provide fans and platform developers a sneak peek on what to expect prior to the debut of the official upgrade. The preview updates will end on September 29, when a final Developer Preview will be launched to the public.

Apple is set to publicly debut its rumored fitness and health wearable wristband at a media gathering in October. If the speculations are correct, then the Gold Master edition of the OS X Yosemite might actually make its debut to the public during the same media event.

In addition, the Gold Master version of the OS X Yosemite is likely to be promoted alongside the new Macs currently being developed by Apple. The upgrade is rumored to provide additional color icons for the users. Moreover, this version might come with thinner text and sharper corners. All these rumored improvements will be more evident in the enhanced displays.

With the higher-resolution screens boasted by the upcoming Mac units, the Gold Master version of the OS X Yosemite will offer an astounding feast for the eyes. The interface elements of this version will definitely appear particularly optimized on these screens. Moreover, the new interface will be coming with a "dark" mode, which turns down the resolution of the system elements, such as the Menu and Dock. In doing so, the "dark" mode will be able to make the apps appear to be more prominent on the screen.

Apart from these exciting features, the Gold Master edition of the OS X Yosemite will likely be offered as a free upgrade by Apple.
