'Once Upon a Time' season 5 episode 22 spoilers: teaser trailer reveals Henry's ability to destroy magic

 ABC

"Once Upon a Time" season 5 episodes 22 and 23 will air back to back and the official promo for the first of the two episodes reveals that despite the birth of Robyn, Regina (Lana Parrilla) will seek revenge and this may hint at her once again becoming the Evil Queen.

The promo showcases Regina reiterating that her husband, Robin Hood (Sean Maguire), has been taken from her and that now is the time for retaliation against Hades (Greg Germann). It is widely speculated that this means she will resort to violent means in order to achieve her goals.

Regina even teases this, stating directly that the heroes fear the Evil Queen would re-emerge from her persona. The very end of the trailer even showcases her once again teleporting out of the location using her signature black and purple smoke.

However, her plans may not come to fruition just yet as the promo reveals that something is wrong with the fabric of magic. It is later teased in the trailer that Henry (Jared S. Gilmore) "destroyed magic" somehow, although it is not shown how or why he was able to accomplish this feat.

Fans speculate that this may have been done in relation to the crystals that Hades harbors. Either way, it does appear that this choice was made in order to stop Regina from going back to the side of evil and may be enough to momentarily stop her from losing her mind.

According to a report from the iDigital Times, the last two episodes will also tie up all the loose plot threads stemming from the group's journey in Camelot and that Violet (Olivia Steele Falconer) may yet return to the series as she reunites with Henry. The finale episodes will also build up to the "ominous evil" that the heroes will face in season 6.

"Once Upon a Time" season 5 episode 22 and episode 23 will air this coming May 15.
