Oasis Awards to be highlighted at Gospel Gathering UK

The UK's gospel music awards show, the Oasis Awards, will return this year to honour and celebrate the achievements of gospel musicians and churches.

The Awards, organised and managed by O3-events (formerly Musicstar), is scheduled to be one of highlight events at the 'UK's biggest gospel celebration of the year', the Gospel Gathering UK.

Taking place at the Butlins resort Minehead in Taunton, Somerset, Gospel Gathering UK will feature some of the biggest names in gospel music including Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary and Donnie McClurkin and UK acts 4 Kornerz, Muyiwa and Riversongz, Roger Samuels and Raymond Co.

The Oasis Awards show will be held on Saturday 17 November, featuring performances from both gospel and Christian Contemporary Music acts. More than twenty awards will be distributed.

In a contrast to last year's awards, nominations and voting for the music categories will be carried out by key members from the gospel music industry, and not by the general public. However, the church categories will still remain in the hands of the general public.

Founder of O3-events, Roney Henderson commented, "In 2007, the Oasis Awards will be an event that will be attended some of the leading gospel artists from around. Being a part of Gospel Gathering UK only helps to solidify the event and I believe that the performances and show itself will be a bigger and better than last year, and will be memorable occasion for all".

Sponsors of the Oasis Awards in 2007 include Ruach Ministries, UB1Music and Premier Radio.
