Emily Rogers, a longtime blogger of Nintendo news and updates, recently leaked information via Twitter that Nintendo has been developing several Wii U games to be remastered and ported to the upcoming Nintendo NX. Her tweet has since been removed but a report from Nintendo Life has been able to keep a copy of her statement.
The rumors of the Nintendo NX coming with Wii U ports is not new as a post on NeoGAF also stated this rumor. According to Rogers's post, however, it is now indicated that Nintendo is porting over some of their most popular Wii U games to the NX, hoping to maintain their loyal fanbase by ensuring the same games can be played with the new console.
According to Rogers, the new "Legend of Zelda" game for the Wii U is going to be released on the NX, similar to how "Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" launched simultaneously for the Gamecube and Wii. "Super Smash Bros. 4" is also being remastered and the NX port is likely going to include all of the DLC characters in a single bundle.
Rogers states that the "Legend of Zelda" and "Super Smash Bros." ports are very likely to happen.
She also mentions both "Super Mario Maker" and "Splatoon," although Rogers quickly points out that there is no guarantee Nintendo will indeed release them for the NX. She points out that just because something is in development does not mean there is a guarantee it will be released. She also points out that "Splatoon" for the NX is still in debate.
The other rumors suggest that the NX will be significantly more powerful than the PS4. While this may be possible due to the fact that the NX will use newer technology compared to the 2013 equipment of the PS4 and Xbox One, there are rumors of Sony releasing the powerful PS4.5 within the next year.
