The Nike Air Max 270 silhouette was recently revealed by Nike for their annual Air Max Day, slated to happen this coming March.

The upcoming shoe was first seen in November 2017. Golden State Warriors superstar and reigning Finals Most Valuabe Player, Kevin Durant, was seen sporting the shoes in an NBA game.

Now officially revealed, Nike also announced that the Air Max 270 will come in different colorways throughout 2018.

As revealed in the design, the Air Max 270 was inspired from older versions of Nike's Air Max series, particularly the Air Max 93 and Air Max 180.

"Originally, the idea was to mash up the Air Max 93 and the Air Max 180 and build a new, more refined silhouette incorporating elements of both," says Dylan Raasch, Senior Creative Director of Nike Air Max during the product's official reveal.

However, unlike the shoes that it drew inspiration from , the Air Max 270 has a unique design.

Built for everyday comfort, this highly-anticipated shoe will be the first lifestyle footwear of Nike for the Air Max series. This does not only give a new twist, but it potentially increases the consumer base of the popular series.

Along with this comes an important detail that's integral to the shoe's comfort — the 270's new Max Air unit. The Max Air unit of the 270 measures 32 mm, making it the largest heel that was made in the Air Max series.

The supreme comfort that Nike advertises is mostly thanks to the cushion created by the air bubbles.

"Somewhere along the way, we got to a point where we essentially abandoned that idea and decided to make something entirely new. That's when we flipped to what has now become the Nike Air Max 27," said Rasch.

Nike's set to release the Air Max 270 on Feb. 21 on the SNKR app  and select retailers worldwide.
