NFL trade updates: Cleveland Browns still lacks quarterback

Weeks prior to the National Football League (NFL) trade, rumors and speculations continue to come regarding each team's possible decision in the draft pick. The first round of the NFL Draft 2017 is already done, with the teams pulling in some surprises in their picks.

Earlier this week, Adam Schefter from ESPN hinted on his official Twitter account that Tennessee Titans is reportedly considering trading the No. 5 overall pick in the NFL Draft 2017.

On the other hand, Ian Rapoport also shared on Twitter that Cleveland Browns is reportedly trying to trade for quarterback Kirk Cousins. Nonetheless, Jordan Schultz, a sports columnist, also presented the idea that this may be a smokescreen for the team to hide its actual plan.

During the draft pick, the Browns pulled a different move as predicted. The team's first-round pick included Myles Garrett at No. 1, along with an additional first-round pick next year, after trading with Houston Texans.

This comes as a surprise, as most of the people are expecting the Browns to pick a new quarterback. In fact, head of football operations Sashi Brown admitted, "We won't rest until we solidify that position."

He added, "It's not solidified right now, so we know we need the guys here to work their tails off and Hue (Jackson) is going to develop them as much as possible and push them to be their best and we also know that until we get it solidified, we're going to continue looking for players all over the league and in college."

Brown said that they will continue looking for a quarterback whether in a trade, free agent, or in next year's draft. Meanwhile, despite missing out this position in their picks, the Browns concluded their trade by securing Miami tight end David Njoku.

As for Tennessee Titans, it did not trade its No. 5 pick and snagged wide receiver Corey Davis. On the other hand, the team picked cornerback Adoree Jackson at No. 18.

More surprises are still expected to come as the NFL trade continues.
