NFL trade rumors 2016: Denver Broncos pick up Brandon Marshall on 4-year extension contract

The NFL is currently in its off-season and while the Denver Broncos are currently not on good terms with linebacker Von Miller, the team has reportedly focused their attention on linebacker Brandon Marshall and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders. According to KRDO, Marshall has just signed a 4-year contract that substantially raises his salary.

According to the report, Marshall's contract with the Denvers will expire after the following season. At the time being, Marshall is signed to earn $2.5 million with his current contract. However, with the new deal he signed with the Broncos, Marshall will be earning a total of $32 million over four years, with $15 million guaranteed.

This shall place Marshall as the sixth highest paid inside linebacker within the NFL.

Marshall managed to play in 30 games over the past two seasons. Within that period, Inquisitr reveals that he had accumulated 215 tackles as well as 3.5 sacks. Marshall was picked up by the Broncos after he was cut out by the Jacksonville Jaguars back in 2012.

A Twitter post from 120 Sports later confirmed that the deal has indeed been made although this states that the guaranteed amount is $20 million and not $15 million. The post also reveals that the contract will keep Marshall with the Broncos until the 2020 season, overriding his current contract with the Broncos which gives a much smaller amount.

It is noted that during his rookie year with the Jaguars he only played 5 games, amassing only 2 tackles in the season. During his first year with the Broncos he only played 1 game but this all changed during his performance in the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

KRDO also points out that Broncos general manager John Elway was focusing his priorities in re-signing Miller but then shifted his focus to Marshall when the former rejected a six-year contract that comes with $38.5 million guaranteed. It is unclear if Miller is merely hoping for a higher paycheck or if he intends to shift to a different team.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
