Nexus 7 deals: Tablet now costs $199 after Nexus 9 release date

Nexus 7

With the release of the new HTC Nexus 9 prompted the price of its predecessor, Nexus 7, to go down.

A new Nexus 7 deal from Groupon emerged after the announcement of the new Nexus tablet and the device now costs $199.99. The emergence of the discount is not surprising since it is expected with the release of a new device.

Nexus 7's original price is $349.99, which means that the new price cuts the price almost in half. Groupon offers a refurbished model of the 2B32-LTE Verizon that is locked in Verizon's 4G LTE network and is compatible with dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n.

Groupon also offers free returns and 30-day warranty from USMP. However, not everyone will be able to get hold of this amazing deal as the seller is not shipping to buyers from Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Canada.

This is not the first time that the Nexus 7 discounts surfaced as previous deals on the tablet were seen that hinted the release of new Nexus tablet.

This is considered as a sweet deal as Google Nexus 7 2013 boasts the following specs and features:

  • 7-inch IPS LCD display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution and 323 ppi
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro 8064 quad-core chipset clocked at 1.5GHz
  • 2GB RAM
  • 5MP rear camera with a f2.4 aperture lens and HD video recording and 1.2MP front-facing camera for video calls and selfies
  • 4G LTE connectivity
  • Android 4.4.4 KitKat
  • 10 hours battery life

Meanwhile, the new HTC Nexus 9 is now available for preorder in various sources with shipping dates in early November. The tablet will be available in three versions including 16GB ($399) and 32GB ($479) WiFi versions, and an LTE-ready 32GB ($599) model. Aside from Google Play Store, Amazon, Best Buy, Gamestop, Google Play, Office Depot, Office Max, QVC/HSN, Radio Shack, Staples and Walmart were confirmed to offer the HTC Nexus 9.

It is only natural to expect more deals and discounts on Nexus devices with the roll out of new generation of Google's gadgets.
