Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 Black Friday deals: Discounts on Google Nexus devices

Nexus 6 Official Android Blog

There are, quite surprisingly, fewer Black Friday deals and discounts on Google Nexus devices this year. Nevertheless, there are still some retailers that have great offerings for Nexus fans.

U.S. retailer Expansys is offering refurbished Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 bundles this week. The retailer is selling the 8 GB Nexus 4 and 16 GB Nexus 7 (2012) for $159.99, as well as the 16 GB Nexus 4 and 16 GB Nexus 7 (2012) for $179.99. Both are great deals since they cost way less compared to purchasing each device separately.

Refurbished units are devices taken back to the manufacturer because of problems. The manufacturer then repairs the handsets and replaces their faulty parts, which, in many cases, are the battery and the back plate.  After repairs, these units function like brand new devices but they are sold at a lower price.

Meanwhile, shoppers who are looking for the new Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 devices can check a few retailers. Amazon offers a $50 discount on the Nexus 9 allowing buyers to pick up the tablet for $349.

The Nexus 9 is also offered in HTC's "Hot Deals" which takes place every Tuesday at 9 a.m. PST/ 12 p.m. EST until the end of December. The deal runs for 12 hours wherein buyers can purchase the device for only $199 or $200 less than the original price.

U.S. carriers AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile, on the other hand, are allowing users to take home the Nexus 6 smartphone without any upfront price. Interested buyers just have to sign for a two-year contract and the total price of the smartphone will be divided and added to the monthly subscription of users of as low as $27 per month.

Google Play Store lists the Nexus 9 for $399 for the 16 GB model, and the 32 GB model costs $479.  The Nexus 6 is available for $649.99 for the 32 GB model and the 64 GB variant costs $699.99. More Black Friday deals are expected to emerge as the shopping event nears.
