New training courses for churches

Training provider CJ Group has announced the launch of a new company that will provide training with a Christian ethos.

Many churches and Christian organisations are already familiar with CJ Group, having used them for training, consultancy and outsourcing.

The company has specialist divisions in health and safety, hospitality, childcare training and social care, and provides short course training across the UK.

While many of these are suitable for a Christian setting, the company is looking to tailor part of its provision specifically for churches and Christian organisations through the establishment of Eden Assist.

Doral Hayes, Operations Director for the CJ Group said: “The range of courses we offer has always been relevant to churches and other Christian organisations but we really want the Christian management ethos of the company to show in the work of Eden Assist.

"We can help with safeguarding concerns, health and safety and first aid and also in team building and leadership and performance and business management.

"All the company managers have worked with churches and Christian organisations and so we understand the particular challenges that this can bring."

Nick Schumann, Warden at St James’s, Clitheroe, said training could help churches navigate complex legislation.

“I have experience in the operation of church premises both from an administrator’s viewpoint and also in my current role as a volunteer warden," he said.

"I have often found the legislation we are required to adhere to complex and welcomed the opportunity to use the services of the Eden Assist to help unravel what is required and ensure we are compliant.

"We have previously booked training with the CJ Group and found their training to be highly engaging but also tailored and relevant to our church’s setting.”
